Brighton & Hove Food Partnership: How to help at Christmas

Brighton & Hove Food Partnership are a not-for-profit organisation who have helped over 15,000 local people learn to cook, grow their own food, eat a healthier diet and waste less. They have lots of ways that you can help out this Christmas, including raising donations for emergency food providers.

BHT Sussex: Christmas Appeal 2022

BHT Sussex is a housing association and a homeless charity. First Base Day Centre is often the first point of contact for people who find themselves on the streets. It provides a warm and safe environment, toilets and showers, clean and dry clothes, hot drinks and meals.

Sussex Homeless Winter Support

Sussex Homeless Winter Support are out this season as temperatures are dropping. With the number of rough sleepers rising, their volunteer team are working tirelessly to deliver a street kitchen at Old Steine in Brighton. Here they serve meals and give out clothes & advice to around 500 homeless and vulnerable people. You can donate with match funding by Aviva here.

Clock Tower Sanctuary: Christmas Appeal

This winter the Clock Tower Sanctuary aims to raise £14,152 - enough to run their centre during December. With this money, they will be able to give homeless young people a nutritious meal, a hot shower and essential toiletries, as well as a place to do their laundry. They also provide a space to meet with a key worker, receive emergency support, and plan a way forward.

Together Co: Loneliness Charity Brighton & Hove, Sussex

Together Co is a charity that works to combat loneliness through befriending, social prescribing and volunteering services in Brighton and Hove. They host regular befriending socials which look like lots of fun!

Action for Children: Be a Secret Santa for a vulnerable child

You can sign up to become a Secret Santa, this appeal allows you to choose a gift from the Action for Children site, and they will send them across the country, to children all over the UK in vulnerable homes.

Crisis at Christmas: Let’s stand with people facing homelessness

Every year Crisis at Christmas opens its doors to people who are facing homelessness at Christmas. As a national charity, they offer much-needed warmth, healthcare, food and company to people experiencing homelessness across the UK.

AgeUK: Help a lonely older person this winter

AgeUK are asking for donations to help them combat loneliness this Christmas. As many older people will struggle this season with isolation, they are offering support through crucial information, friendship and advice.

Be a Samaritans Christmas Star - Help bring light to someone in their darkest times

Samaritans are asking for donations to help them answer calls that offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need. Last festive period they were able to respond to 244,254 calls in the UK and the Republic of Ireland with the help of contributions.

Salvation Army: Support for the homeless this Christmas

This year the Salvation Army are providing food parcels, practical support and somewhere to sleep for people who are homeless this Christmas.

Shelter: Help Shelter be there when it matters most

This Christmas, children will be waking up in damp storage containers and cramped B&Bs. Families will be sleeping on sofas, without a proper place to call home. Shelter is collecting donations to help homeless children and families with support and advice this Christmas, and beyond. You can also support their shops by donating items in store or by post.
